Words can’t properly describe the enjoyment I get out of seeing these highly-stylized videos for the Beatles Rock Band. Great use of digital motion graphics in conjunction with what looks like hand-drawn animation to create something wholly befitting as a modern day take on the seminal band. Somehow I imagine these minute-long videos will still trounce the crap out of the completely unncessary remake of Yellow Submarine.
A fantastic trippy ‘lil video for Air’s newest single. Now if they released a companion DVD with videos to all the songs in this visual style, I’d be a happy man.
Contributor abides by a simple mantra: skateboards for all.
The negative effects of poverty are very significant and limiting for those who are affected by it on a daily basis, but are especially difficult for youth. For these youth things that we take for granted – let’s say, the simple action of going out to play with friends on a skateboard – seem unattainable. Without access to a positive support through a group of peers and healthy alternatives to focus on, these kids can lose their way. By working with non-profit organizations across Canada, who are dedicated to youth at risk and children in lower-income neighborhoods, we hope to encourage successful outcomes through the addition of skateboarding as a positive reinforcement.

A still image from the teaser trailer of Marily Minter’s newest film, Green Pink Caviar. Loving the colors in conjunction with the imagery centered around the mouth.
Green Pink Caviar (2009) is a lush and sensual voyeuristic hallucination. Filmed with macro lenses, she captures the most minute movements of female mouths licking candy and cake decoration. Driven by her fascination with the body, Minter’s film sets the stage for chance to happen.
