This is more a beautiful visualization than music video, but it’s enchanting to the eyes nonetheless. Whispy colorful plumes of smoke moving to the melodies of this song.

I’m astounded by the way the Mark II has created its own mini-revolution in video. While there are still a fair number of limitations in how it captures and the lack of customized settings, it’s pretty evident that filmmakers have managed to get around these issues. And really, when you see get to see the footage through all this nice 35mm glass, it looks so good it sort of outweighs everything else.


A nice video with a fun sense of narrative that could’ve gotten hokey but never quite drifted into that territory while making great use of breaking structure.

While Prodigy’s video will always stand as probably the best 1st-person perspective music video of the past decade, gonna call this one enjoyable enough to work while bordering in gimmick-territory.

I don’t mean to undermine this tremendous 4-week effort by the production team on this video, but despite the strong visual component I couldn’t find very much that felt connected with the song. Looking nice for the sake of looking nice without a strong element to tie everything together. Nonetheless, kudos to GB for being one of the few bands who continue to find interesting directors to shoot far-from-traditional vids.

A fantastic trippy ‘lil video for Air’s newest single. Now if they released a companion DVD with videos to all the songs in this visual style, I’d be a happy man.

Your daily fix of creepy. Probably shouldn’t have watched this before going to bed last night. It’s like entering the world of the Eastern European doppelganger of Ellen Burstyn’s character from Requiem for a Dream.

LA’s indie/alternative/noise/apocalyptic-maestros are back with a video for arguably the best single on their new album Get Color. While not the biggest fan of spastic Michael Bay’esque editing, I think it works quite effectively with the rhythmic nature of the song. Add in some lo-fi picture-in-picture effect between shots and you’re set.

Don’t think we can go a week, let alone a few days without encountering some sort of time-lapse or stop-motion vid popping up. Well, if it works — gotta run with it. Love the art direction in this piece, invoking thoughts of fantasy epics of old like The Dark Crystal or The Neverending Story.
